Today, ten days after the elections, the Republicans have won the presidency, the house, and the senate. I think the count in the states has also moved a little to the right as well. It appears to me the Democrats have temporarily worn out their welcome with the electorate, so now the Democrats are grasping for straws in PA trying to win a lost U.S. senate race with a recount. Conservative reporters say the Democrats want to count the votes of non-citizens in PA. The liberal reporters say America is on the verge of horrible things. Again, several ultra-liberal celebrities are saying they will move out of the U.S. How many times have we heard that? The last time I remember someone moving out of the U.S. was during the Vietnam war when young men moved to Canada to avoid the draft. Most of our citizens are ready to see what the conservatives can do to help us constituents instead of the pocketbooks of the elected officials and bureaucrats. Is that possible? Where will the downsized bureaucrats find jobs where they can goof off all day, waste time, and our tax dollars? If the conservatives do an excellent job, how will the Democrats react to get back in power?
Trump and his colleagues are steadily choosing hundreds if not thousands of appointed positions, and his choices are anything but boring. The choices are not the normal washed-up politicians and bureaucrats, who are experienced in keeping their jobs. Conservative sources say Trump is appointing experts to make the government more efficient and trimming down the number of bureaucrats who are paid out of our taxes. I am interested to see if the federal government becomes less bloated and more efficient. Hopefully, what is happening will provide a better country for us constituents, and fewer worthless rules, expenditures, and earmarks to keep elected officials continuously reelected. Do you think we should try to get some sort of term limits put in place? I have heard the only way that will ever happen is to have a Convention of States. The following is from the home page of the Convention of States organization https://conventionofstates.com “I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress”. You can read the full petition by clicking below that statement. Look at their website to see what this movement is all about. I do not believe congress will ever vote to limit how long an elected official can hold office.
I wonder how much wrangling, lying, cheating, trickery, and downright illegal attempts will be made to change the results of the November 5, 2024, elections. If nothing else the next few months will be annoying for everyone. Will We the People, or they, the politicians prevail? You can comment on this site, and I read them to see what you are thinking.
As usual, I cannot be all in. I am simply inhalfway.
