Making America Great Again

2024 Election Results

Donald J. Trump, the Republican candidate has won the Office of president again. When I asked a longtime friend who was going to win the presidency, he said look at the betting odds in Las Vegas. I searched for Las Vegas Odds on the 2024 Presidential election, and virtually all the sites I read were convinced Trump was the odds-on favorite to win the election. My friend’s logic was that when so many people are betting their own money on an event it is the most reliable prediction of what will win. It is now November 12. 2024, and Trump decidedly won both the electoral and the popular vote for the office of president again. He was the 45th president and now he will be the 47th president. Several presidents have won two consecutive terms, but only Grover Cleveland who was both the 22nd and the 24th president had won non-consecutive terms.

The Republican party has also won a majority in ts. he U.S. Senate with at least 53 senators. In the U.S. House of Representatives, the Republicans have as of this writing won 214 seats and the Democrats have won 205 with 23 seats yet to be called. The goal is to win 218 seats for a majority, but a majority is not yet assured for either party.  Current polls show the Democrats ahead in 12 districts, and the Republicans ahead in 11 districts. Since the Republicans only need 6 more seats it appears they may get the 218 majority they need to have control of the U.S. House of Representatives. Hopefully, we will know before the end of this weekend.

Trump has begun offering cabinet posts, and other appointed offices. The Democrats are playing the blame game, and a few are coming up with desperate moves to make before the inauguration. The courts and attorney generals have made changes to Trump’s convictions for his “crimes” while he was still the 45th president. Politicians are doing whatever they can to hinder their political parties from looking better. Typical political wrangling. More wrangling to come.

As always, I cannot be all in, so I am Inhalfway.
